Today I started my first treatment with TTFields, or tumor treating fields from Novacure. It's kind of weird with all this equipment to carry around but I think its doable. The statistics show that survival is extended using this device, so why not. There are 4 patches on my head, each with a cable and then those snake down one side of me using a cable carrier and plug into that box you see on my lap. That's where the TTFields are generated. Then it has a few batteries and an outlet plug for powering the device while moving or at rest. So basically, once I'm on the move I'm disconnected from the world.

The lady that came to demonstrate the unit was nice. She left an array of stuff here, guess that makes sense since the cost of the thing is astronomical! Fortunately, I believe the insurance will pay for the thing and if not I'm signed up to their price reduction plan. So either way, I should be ok with the pricing.

Well, wish me luck! I assume it will take some getting used to but overall I think I can manage. They expect it to be worn at least 18 hours a day.
